Obituary of Edwin L. Martin

Edwin L. Martin, 90, died on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born and raised in Middletown, NY, Ed relocated to Highland Park before settling to Piscataway in the late 1950's. Mr. Martin spent his career working for the former AR Meeker Co. in Springfield as a Field Service Supervisor, retiring in 1986. Ed served in the Merchant Marines and the former Middlesex Jaycees organization. He was also a member of the Piscataway Superchief Band Parent Association for many years. An active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bound Brook, Mr. Martin had a love for music and singing. He was a member of the Christ Church Choir in New Brunswick, the Imperial Chorus of South River, and was also a member of the Masterwork Chorus group. Predeceased by a son Philip and sister Barbara Vanderslice, surviving are his wife Joan, sons; Donald (Carla) of Warren, David (Dorothy) of Wantage and Warren (Monica) of Harrisonburg, VA., step daughters; Catherine Mironov (Bruce) of Jamesburg, Alice Matts (Edward) of South River and Bethanne Seel (John) of Liberty Twp., 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 9:15am - 10:15am prior to the 11amFuneral Service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bound Brook, NJ. Interment will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway, NJ. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church 214 Church St. Bound Brook, NJ 08805.
