Obituary of Irene Kolenski

Piscataway - Irene Kolenski, 95, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Plainfield, Irene resided in the Plainfield Area for the majority of her life before settling in Piscataway several years ago. Initially Irene worked for Maidenform in Piscataway. After retirement and living in the Piscataway Senior Apartments, she continued working as a receptionist for the building. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos and traveling. Irene was also an avid "facebooker" keeping up with her family and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Henry, surviving are her three nieces, Candice Spock and wife Denise, Kelly Strauss and Pam Luther; sister in law, Judy Burton. She will also be missed by her extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will begin on Friday February 10, 2017 at 9:30AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend visitation on Thursday from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
