Obituary of Robert K. Branagan

Mullica Hill - Robert K. Branagan, 78, died on Sunday April 7, 2013 at his home.
Born and raised in Irvington, NJ, Bob had resided in South Plainfield for most of his life where he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Church.
He settled to Mullica Hill ten years ago.
Employed as a toll collector for the Parkway Authority, Bob retired at the age of 62. He had previously been employed by Purolator formerly located in Rahway.
As a longtime member of the South Plainfield Knights of Columbus Council 6203, Bob had served faithfully as the Grand Knight and various other capacities including assisting with the construction of the hall. Bob was also a long time communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church where he served as Usher and was the School's Pack Master for their former Cub Scouts Pack.
Bob was truly a fisherman at heart and enjoyed sports, including football and baseball.
He is predeceased by his brother, William, surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years; Marion (Spera) Branagan, a daughter; Maryann Jones and her husband, Michael, a son; Michael, two sisters; Dorothy Curley and Virginia Hanlon, three grandchildren; Lauren, Sean and Brandon and a great granddaughter, Faith.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday, April, 11, 2013 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
Interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the funeral home.
