Walter was a kind and sweet man, but he could be a bit of a devil when he wanted. I enjoyed reminiscing with him about the union hall and the pool tables my sister and I played on while my mom did her stuff. She worked for Emerson in the 50s and we had a grand old time there. He was a staunch Democrat, a solid South Plainfielder, and a proud American. I'll miss him a great deal.
