Joseph P. Glick
South Plainfield - Joseph P. Glick, 95, died on Monday, October 15, 2012 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Newark, Mr. Glick resided in Irvington for 30 years before relocating to South Plainfield in 1993.
Mr. Glick was a truck driver for the former Consolidated Freightways in Newark and was a member of the Teamsters Local 478 located in Union.
Joe served with the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the former Belleville VFW Post 6265.
Mr. Glick was an avid Yankees fan but will always be remembered for his famous riddles.
He is predeceased by his wife the late Madeline who died in 1998, one sister and three brothers.
Surviving are his two sons; Ronald of South Plainfield and Dennis of Eatontown, a sister Elizabeth Kennedy of Iselin, his four grandchildren; Anthony Glick and his wife Susan, Melanie Santiago and her husband Tim, Melissa Glick and Justine Glick. Also surviving are his great grandson Jaden and his angel of a caretaker Belinda Langford.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 19, 2012 in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
