Obituary of George J. Seitzmeyer

George J. Seitzmeyer Middlesex - George J. Seitzmeyer, 82, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Newark, George grew up in Maplewood and lived in Newark, Irvington and South Plainfield before moving to Middlesex several years ago. Mr. Seitzmeyer began his career as a wireman with Western Electric and continued his career in same capacity for nearly 50 years with Bell Labs in Murray Hill. He is pre deceased by his wife Dorothy and his brother Robert Charles who died June 13, 1945 in Italy during WWII while defending our country. Surviving are his 2 sons; Robert and his wife Teresa of Piscataway and George and his wife Karen of Edison, 5 grandchildren; Rebecca Seitzmeyer, Tracy Sesta, Ryan Edmondson and April and Nicole Zapata, 3 great grandchildren; Grace and Brian Sesta and Devon Zapata. Also surviving are his fiancé Dottie Giammarco and her daughter Mary both Middlesex. Funeral Services will begin on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Committal and Entombment Services will follow at 11:30 AM in the Mausoleum Chapel at Resurrection Burial Park, Pisacataway. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Ave., Plainfield, NJ 07063.
