Obituary of Evelyn M. Nagy

South Plainfield - Evelyn M. (Thompson) Nagy, 91, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the NJ Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater. Born and raised in Bound Brook, Evelyn had lived most of her life in Bound Brook, Middlesex and Dunellen before moving to South Plainfield in 2000. Evelyn held a real estate broker license for many years and had worked with her husband at their agency, the former Charles Z. Nagy Realty in Middlesex. Evelyn later joined the Joseph J. Rea Agency in Piscataway prior to her retirement in 1993. In her mid 50's, Evelyn went back to school, attending Middlesex County College, earning a nursing degree. She had worked for five years as an LPN at the VA Medical Center in Lyons, NJ and later as a per diem LPN at various nursing homes in Somerset County. Evelyn was a member of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. Predeceased by her husband, Charles Z. Nagy , who died in 1990, she is also predeceased by two sisters; Virginia Thompson and Jessie Brown and a brother, Howard Thompson. She leaves behind a daughter; Kathleen Keenan and her husband, Bill of South Plainfield, three sons; Charles, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Middlesex, Rodger W. and his wife, Cathy of Bordentown and Thomas J. and his wife, Rebecca of E. Brunswick, three sisters; Dorothy Vesely, Helen Brett and Mary Olivieri, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 9:15 AM from the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bound Brook Visitation hours are Tuesday August 6th from 3-7PM in the funeral home.
