Mary L. Belardo
South Plainfield - Mary L. (Dellipoali) Belardo, 90, died on Monday, August 22, 2011 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Plainfield, Mrs. Belardo had been a longtime resident of South Plainfield.
Mrs. Belardo was a lifelong devoted sponsor and advocate of the South Plainfield Athletic program. She cherished her family and always said "It doesn't matter what you have. If you have your family, you are rich."
In addition, Mary treasured the love and friendship of her extended family and friends at The Woodlands Genesis Eldercare in Plainfield.
Mrs. Belardo is predeceased by her husband the late Joseph, a grandson Scott Ribar and by all of her siblings.
Surviving is her daughter Brenda Ribar and her husband Ken of South Plainfield and her son Joseph M. Belardo and his wife Nancy also of South Plainfield, her grandchildren; Keith Ribar (Robin), Kendall Ribar, Mary Belardo (Jason VanDerveer), Joseph Belardo Jr.(Bethann) and Patrick Belardo (Beth). Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Olivia & Lily Belardo, Julian & Elliot Belardo, Emma Ribar and Jonathan VanDerveer
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 8:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 9:30AM funeral mass at St Bernard of Clairvaux & St. Stanislaus of Kostka RC Church, Plainfield.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 4-8 PM in the funeral home.
