Robert C. Burtt, age 75, passed away peacefully at Peggy's House, The Center of Hope, Scotch Plains, NJ on Friday, November 20th, 2015.
Born in Summit, New Jersey on November 13th, 1940 he lived in Springfield, NJ for many years before finally residing in Cranford, NJ. Robert was an Army Veteran Sharpshooter and Marksman before working in the chemical manufacturing industry. He was a Springfield paramedic for many years and eventually found his passion for service to others working at the Cranford Public Library where he was employed until his death. Robert was dedicated to his faith, fellowship unity and to the service of others.
Robert is survived by his children Cathy Horn of Forked, NJ, Joanne Pezza and her husband Paul of Clayton, NC, Nancy Jesequel of Clayton, NC and his son Robert Burtt and his wife Ann, of Sunset, Utah, his sisters Dorothy Meyer of Jackson, TN, Betty Wheeler and her husband Russell of Seneca Falls, NY, and his brother Gary Burtt and his wife Gail of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by two step children, Patricia and Daniel, eight grandchildren, five step grandchildren, many very special nieces and nephews and his longtime friend Margaret Stulack.
A service will be held at McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ on Tuesday November 24th, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm. Please come and share your stories and memories with all who have been touched by God's newest Angel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Robert C. Burtt to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital.
