Obituary of Joseph C. Gubernat

Joseph "Cliff" Gubernat, III South Bound Brook - Joseph "Cliff" Gubernat III , passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Hempstead, NY., he was raised in Livingston, where he spent the majority of his life prior to settling in South Bound Brook a few years ago. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Cliff received several medals during his service, such as; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal and in addition was a Sharpshooter. He had been employed in the maintenance department for Foster Wheeler in Clinton prior to retirement. Surviving are his son, David Gubernat and wife Barbara of South Plainfield and 2 grandchildren; Shawn and Christina. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow at Fair Mount Cemetery, Chatham. Family and friends may attend visitation hours on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
