Obituary of Dominick J. Raiti

South Plainfield - Dominick J. Raiti, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on Friday June 12, 2015 at home. Born to the late Joseph and Nunziata in Carteret, Dominick was raised in the town before settling to South Plainfield. A US Navy Veteran, who was honorably discharged in 1946, Dominick operated landing crafts during the D-Day invasion on Normandy Beach, France. He was a maintenance worker for Westinghouse in Edison. An avid baseball watcher, Dominick enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and old Western Movies. He was also a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. Predeceased by his wife, Rosita (Lake) and two children, Kathryn Raiti and Dominick Raiti Jr., surviving are three children, Nancy Bumback and husband, Francis of South Plainfield, Joseph H. Of Santa Maria, CA and Paul R. and wife, Debbie of Canton, GA. He will also be missed by his five grandchildren, Jill, Lisa, Kelly, Ashly, and Dominick III and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 9AM Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10AM. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, South Plainfield. Family and friends may attend visitation on Tuesday from 6-9PM in the funeral home.
