South Plainfield - Thomas S. Golonka, 61, died on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at home.
Born and raised in Rahway, Tom settled to South Plainfield in 1978.
Prior to his most recent employer, International Paper in Spotswood as a Power Plant Engineer, Mr. Golonka worked as a Chief Engineer for the former LA Dreyfus Co. in Edison for 25 years.
A longtime NY JETS season ticket holder, Tom was also an avid fisherman and Yankees fan. In addition, he also had a love for music.
He is predeceased by his brother David and parents Stanley and Anna.
Surviving are his wife Donna (Harwell), his daughter Stephanie Golonka (Rob Quezada) of Ocean, a sister Geraldine Markiewicz (Larry) of Clark, his nephews; Larry Markiewicz Jr. and Michael Markiewicz (Kris) his great nephews; Jake and Luke, his Aunt Violet, Sister-in-law Janet Harwell and son Richard and family and also his extended family.
Funeral Services are being held privately under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
