Obituary of Darlene A. Goushy

Washington Twp. -Darlene Ann Lerner Goushy, born October 10, 1947, passed away on July 4, 2014 at her home in Washington Township, New Jersey after a long illness. She was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and resided in South Plainfield for 47 years. She is survived by Peter Goushy, her husband of 40 years, her sister Jane Heller and her husband Jim of Fair Haven, New Jersey, her brother Jerry Lerner and his wife Christy of High Springs, Florida, and her sister-in-law Barbara Fischer and her husband Ken of Highland Park, New Jersey. She is also survived by three nieces, four nephews, one great niece and two great nephews who she loved dearly. She was past president of the Geary Park Association and a former Councilwoman for South Plainfield. She also worked many years on the town's planning board. She was employed by AT&T and Lucent Technologies for 25 years and for 10 years with Centenary College where she also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She served on the board of Advanced Federal Credit Union of New Jersey for many years. Relatives and friends will be gathering on Saturday, July 26, beginning at 11am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 to honor the life she so passionately lived.
