South Plainfield - Kenneth B. Shevlin, 67, passed away on Monday October 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ Kenneth was a lifelong resident of South Plainfield. He was a 1970 graduate of Western Kentucky University. Prior to his retirement in 2013, he was President of Kenneth B. Shevlin, Inc. an insurance brokerage located in Warren. He was a longtime member and served on the Board of Trustees of the Metuchen Golf and Country Club. An avid golfer, Ken was a former club champion and played in several N.J.S.G.A. State Amateur Championships and N.Y.C. Championships. He enjoyed doing all types of work around the home. However, his greatest joy was time spent with his family. He is predeceased by his parents Franklin and Dorothy Shevlin. Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years Susan; sons, Brian Shevlin and his wife Kimberly of Pennington and Keith Shevlin of Chicago, Ill.; daughter, Erin Taylor and her husband Darrell of Bridgewater; brother, Ronald Shevlin of Montgomery and his beloved grandchildren, Abigail and Benjamin Shevlin and Dylan and Connor Taylor. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 beginning at 11am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 4-8pm. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
