Obituary of Assunta Basso

Assunta Basso Brooklyn, NY - Assunta (DiMartino) Basso, 90, died on Monday, April 16, 2012 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Assunta was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn. A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Basso enjoyed to crochet and for several years donated receiving blankets she made to the Maternity Ward at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She is predeceased by her husband Adam, her son Paul and by several additional siblings. Surviving is her daughter Florence Mancino and her husband Larry of South Plainfield, NJ, a sister Connie Adinoffi of Brooklyn, NY, a brother Nicholas Matonti of Long Island, NY, and her two grandchildren; Peter Mancino and his wife Elisa of Middlesex and Adam Mancino and his wife Lisa of Hoboken. Also surviving are her four great grandchildren; Antonio, Eliana, Graziella and Vittoria. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment services are private. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 6-8 PM in the funeral home
