South Plainfield - Frank Ciampi, 96, died on Friday, November 7, 2014 in his home. Born and raised in Newark, Frank settled to South Plainfield in 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. Frank was employed in the Milk Industry. He was employed by the Teamsters Union Local #680 and was working at the Tuscan Dairy in Union as a Machine Operator and Shop Stewart prior to his retirement in 1983. He had been a member of the South Plainfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #6763, enjoyed golfing, trips to Atlantic City as well as spending time with his grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife, Rose Guancione, second wife, Helen C. Mastroguiseppe, two sons, Pasquale and Frank and eight siblings. Surviving are his three daughters, Rosemary Barry and her husband, Michael of South Plainfield , Karen Ciampi of South Plainfield and Joan Sauer and her husband, Nicholas of South Carolina. He will also be missed by eight grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Barry, Jonathan and Kevin Ciampi, Nicholas Sauer and Michael, Christopher and Frank Ciampi, sixteen great grandchildren and two great - great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 10 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visitation is on Sunday from 2-5 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
