Obituary of Doris J. Esposito

South Plainfield - Doris Esposito 82, died peacefully at her home on Sunday evening June 15, 2014. Born and raised in Rahway, NJ, Doris settled to South Plainfield in 1951 where she and her late husband, Salvatore bought their home. Doris initially worked for Prudential in Newark, but chose to stay at home and raise her children. She was a devoted wife, proud mother of four, grandmother of ten and great grandmother of nine. She had enjoyed spending time bowling, knitting, doing cross word puzzles and reading. Her beloved husband, Salvatore died in 2002. She is also predeceased by her son in law, Andrew Ahimovic, daughter in law, Peggy, great granddaughter, Kelsey and brothers, Richard and Charles. Surviving are her children; Sally Ann Ahimovic, Joseph and fiancé Merry Hoppe, Sal and his wife Lori, and Charles and his wife, Elisa, sister, Arleen Rodden, ten grandchildren; Christine, Peggy Jo, Laura, Andrew, Kevin, Nicole, Sal, Vincent, Jessica, and Jacob and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funeral, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. A funeral mass will follow at 11:30 AM in the Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ., 07080. Entombment will follow mass in Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield, NJ. 07080. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the funeral home. Doris was known to support many various charities, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of ones' choice.
