Obituary of Joseph K. Halada

Middlesex, NJ - Joseph K. Halada, 80, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on October 5, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born in Philadelphia on September 9, 1935. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Joseph G. and Anna J. (Melioris) and his siblings. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Anne M. (Masiar) and his children, Joanne Galasso and husband John of Bridgewater, NJ, Joseph Halada and wife Kathy of Newark, DE, Paul Halada and wife Anita of Bridgewater, NJ, Ann Marie Halada, MD and husband Arijit Chowdhury, Charles Halada and wife Karen of Middlesex and his grandchildren, Nina, Alex, Monica, Stephen, Joseph, and Christopher. He is also survived by his brother John "Bob" Halada of Palm Harbor, FL. Joseph grew up in Palmerton, PA where he met Anne. He was a longtime resident of Middlesex, NJ where he raised his family. Mr. Halada was a science teacher at Green Brook High School for over thirty years. He also had his own furniture moving business with his sons. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family at his vacation home, "the red house" in the Poconos, but his favorite place was his front porch in Middlesex. His greatest joy was his family. Joseph was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish in Middlesex. Family and friends are invited to gather at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, October 8, 2015 for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Joseph will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Palmerton, PA. Visitation will be held in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Donations sent in Joseph's name to Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish would be appreciated.
