South Plainfield - Grace C. (Licciardone) DeCillis, 77, died on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Scranton, PA., Grace grew up in Old Forge, PA and Elizabeth, NJ prior to settling to South Plainfield in 1968.
A true family woman at heart, Grace was referred to as the Commander in Chief by her family members. She enjoyed to read and listen to music but her true passion was to cook, bake and host the traditional "Sunday Dinner" at her home.
In addition to raising and caring for her family, Mrs. DeCillis also worked as an Administrative Assistant for the South Plainfield Board of Education prior to retirement.
She is predeceased by her husband Frank who died in 2001 and by a son Nicky who died in 2005.
Grace is survived by her daughter Juliann Bickunas and her husband David of South Plainfield, her son Matthew DeCillis and his wife Angela of Iselin, her daughter in-law Stacy DeCillis of South Plainfield, sisters; Rosemarie "Rose" Gemmell of South Plainfield and Johanna Butta and her husband Alfred of Toms River, her brother Dominick Licciardone of South Plainfield and 10 grandchildren; Nicholas, Dana, Jaclyn, Leann, Veronica, Vanessa, Shelby and Madalyn DeCillis and David and Luke Bickunas. Also surviving is a great grandchild Ryder.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
