Obituary of Gertrude Lizzi

Atlantis, FL - Gertrude (Viola) Lizzi, 93, died Monday August 19, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Gertrude resided in Staten Island before relocating to Florida in the late 1990's. She worked as a seamstress and dress maker for Henri Bendel in NYC. Gertrude enjoyed sewing and cooking. She is predeceased by her husband who died in 1993, Dominick; two sisters; Anna Viola, Marie Gassman and her brother; Dominick Viola. Surviving are her two daughters; Diane Springer of Boynton Beach and Marguerite Fusco of South Plainfield and a brother, Andrew Viola and his wife Mary of Florida. She will also be missed by her six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at 10AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
