Obituary of Kathleen E. Geary

Kathleen E. (Conway) Geary, 79, of South Plainfield, died on Friday, December 11, 2015 at NYU Langone Medical Center. Born and raised in Jersey City, Kathleen settled to South Plainfield in 1961. She had been employed by the South Plainfield Board of Education as a cafeteria aide, working in the High School for many years. True to her Irish heritage, Kathleen found great joy in spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren. She was a great mother and grandmother who loved attending all their sporting events, cooking for them, doing puzzles, and watching the Willie Lynch Trio, her favorite Irish Band. Additionally, she enjoyed watching professional sports on T.V., having been a fan of the Mets, Rangers, and Giants. Kathleen is predeceased by her husband, Bob, who died in 2009 and her siblings, Helen Barrett, William Conway, and Michael Conway. She will be dearly missed by her four children, Janice Cornell and her husband Stuart, Bob and his wife Stacey, Jim and his wife Kim, and Mark and his wife Barbara; two sisters, Marion Rose and Marjorie Smith and her husband Blair; and her beloved four grandchildren, Erica, Brendan, Connor, and Grace; and many nieces and nephews. Services are Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080, followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow mass in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ 08854. Family and friends may join together for visitation hours on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home.
