Obituary of Carmine P. Gallo

South Plainfield - Carmine P. Gallo, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the Haven Hospice within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Tuckahoe, NY., he had resided in Summit, NJ before settling to South Plainfield 65 years ago. Carmine served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant prior to his honorable discharge in 1945. He enjoyed his big Italian Sunday family dinners and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching cowboy movies and golfing. Predeceased by five siblings, Larry, John, Lucy Lind, Theresa Cirasella and Millie Crowe, Surviving are his wife, Diana R. (Demico); six children, William Gallo and Joanne of Warren, Shirley Barbara and husband Louis of Bedminster, Diane Petercsak and husband Tom of Branchburg, Ann Marie Butrico and husband Frank of South Plainfield, Michele Grice of Houston, TX and Michael Bumback and his wife Joel of Joaquin, TX and a brother, Peter Gallo. He will also be missed by his eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Family and Friends may join together for visitation prior to mass on Thursday beginning at 9:15 AM until 10:45AM. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 10:45 AM in the McCriskin -Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Suburban Women Club of South Plainfield, c/o 210 Clarke Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
