Obituary of Joanne Hart

Joanne Hart Plainfield -Joanne Hart, 61 entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 29, 2011 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison Joanne fought a valiant battle with cancer for 5 years. Born on February 16, 1950 to Leo J. Hart & Angie (Previte) Hart, Joanne was raised in New Brunswick, and moved to Plainfield many years ago. She graduated from St. Peter's High School and Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) and embarked on a 36 year teaching career. She was the school teacher librarian at Evergreen in Plainfield for 33 years where she was well loved & respected by all of the administrators, teachers and students. She was a dedicated teacher who loved her profession. She touched the lives of many and it was truly a privilege to know her. Joanne was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and aunt who will be dearly missed by all. Joanne's passion was her family. She will also be remembered for her great sense of style & innovative thinking. She is predeceased by her father, Leo J. Hart & niece, Shannon Hart as well as several well loved aunts and uncles. She is survived by her adoring husband and caregiver of 32 years, J. Jake Martinez, retired precision sheet metal foreman and past Post Commander of Memorial Post 6763, South Plainfield, Veterans of Foreign Wars and past District Commander (Middlesex County), VFW. She will be sadly missed by her mother, Angie Hart of North Brunswick, her sister, Patricia Bello and husband, Gary of Parlin; brother, Robert Hart and his wife Renee of Point Pleasant, and brother, William Hart and wife Debra Hart of Somerset, Joanne was a very "special" Aunt to Jason Frey, Sean, Ryan, Kevin, Robert, Allison and Kelly Hart who will truly miss her. She will be dearly missed by her many aunts, uncles & cousins as well as the extended families of Valerie (Bello) Cannan and Diane Buckalew of South Amboy & Donna Haydu of Sayreville. Although a petite woman, she had a huge heart and so is the magnitude of our loss. God Only Takes the Very Best. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 9:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Stanislaus of Kosta RC Church, Plainfield. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joanne's memory may be made payable to The American Cancer Society, noting "Rahway Regional Center - RFL" and sent to the attention of Christina Andrascik, 986 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081.
