Colonia - Carolyn J. (Tellison) Nietzer, 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, Carolyn settled to Colonia in the early 1950's, where she has been a resident ever since.
She initially worked for Public Service and later chose to stay home, raising and caring for her family for most of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed.
Carolyn had been active for many years with the First Baptist Church in Elizabeth and enjoyed being a part of the Women's Circle. She also enjoyed spending time doing crafts and making ornaments.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Robert E. Sr., daughter, Kathy Spataro and husband Rick of Howell, two sons; Robert E. Jr. and wife Janis of South Plainfield and Kenneth and wife Dawn of Howell, and a sister, Betty Wood of Michigan. She will be missed by her eight grand children; Kristen Gati and her husband Chris, Jesse and his wife Nicole, Kyesha, Sean, Justin, Alissa, Brian and Samantha and a great granddaughter, Faith.
Funerals services will begin on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of South Plainfield, 201 Hamilton Blvd., South Plainfield NJ 07080.
Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery of Samptown, South Plainfield.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 3-6PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080.
Donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church.
