Obituary of Phyllis Haase

Librarian, Mother, Grandmother South Plainfield - Phyllis Haase, 85, passed from this life on July 14, 2015. Born September 27, 1929 to John McDermott and Sophia Schroeder in West New York, NJ where she graduated as valedictorian of Memorial High School. Phyllis furthered her education with Fairleigh Dickinson University and Columbia University School of Library Service. Phyllis stared her career in a corner grocery store owned by John Schlomann, She later worked as a Reference Library Assistance at Fairleigh University and then as a Connections Coordinator at Cooper Laboratories in Parsippany, NJ. She also worked for the Salvation Army in New York City. Phyllis met her late husband, Robert Haase in 1950 and married on September 11, 1954. They had one son, Jonathan Robert. Surviving are a son, Jonathan Robert Haase; daughter-in-law, Lisa Haase and two grandchildren, Louis and Gianna. She also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews. Donations in Phyllis's memory may be sent to the Salvation Army and Feed the Children. Funeral services are private and under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals.
