Obituary of Sherry Allyce Rawson

Summit - Sherry Allyce Rawson, 72, died Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Overlook Hospital. Born and raised in Sedalia, MO, Sherry spent the majority of her adult life in South Plainfield and Summit. Sherry Rawson was a Registered Nurse at both Muhlenburg Regional Medical Center and at Overlook Hospital. Sherry was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Bridgewater. She enjoyed traveling and photography with Larry Kerner. She was very actively involved in the lives of her children and adoring grandchildren. She also was active in The Fortnightly Club of Summit. Sherry Rawson is remembered by lifetime companion Larry Kerner, of Chatham; her children, Lisa Garb and her husband Stephen, of Hillsborough; Laura Butrico and her husband Paul, of Warren; John V Rawson III and his wife Gail, of Slingerlands, NY. She is also survived by her two sisters, Nickole Hayden and her husband William, of Lees Summit, MO; Dr. Cynthia Stauffacher of Lafayette, IN; as well as her two nieces, Ursula and Katherine, and her eight grandchildren, Aimee, Daniel, Timothy, Anna, Erin, Holly, Jillian and John. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4th at 11:00 am at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for the College Scholarship Fund at The Fortnightly Club of Summit, 214 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ or Atlantic Homecare and Hospice, 465 South Street, Morristown, NJ.
