Obituary of William J. Catelli

William "Bill" Catelli Toms River - William J. "Bill" Catelli, 52, died suddenly on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at home. Born in Orange, Bill grew up in Irvington and lived in South Plainfield before settling in Toms River 22 years ago. For the past 25 years, Bill was employed by the Federated Department Stores working as an Operating Engineer in their Macy's Department Store Division and was a proud member of their Local Union #68. He was an active member of the Coastal Jersey Parrot Head Club as well as the Giblin Association. Very handy around the house, he was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Bill enjoyed fishing, making others laugh, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his hobbies and family time, Bill, along with his loving wife of 30 years JoAnne (Kaschak), was an advocate of their Yucatan Peninsula Project which consisted of developing exclusive residential properties. He is pre-deceased by his parents; Reynold and Catherine Catelli and by a brother Reynold. In addition to his wife, surviving are his 2 sons; Michael and William R. all of Toms River, his brother John Catelli of Whiting, his mother in-law Theresa Kaschak of South Plainfield all of his adoring pets, and numerous friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2008 from 3-7 PM in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the local ASPCA or Humane Society.
