Obituary of Darren P. Gorman

Darren Gorman South Plainfield - Darren Gorman, 43, died on Wednesday December 2, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family after a long and hard fought battle against Lymphoma. Darren was born in Union NJ, to the late Lois Gorman - Eggers and Thomas Gorman, he grew up in central New Jersey and had resided in Piscataway before settling to South Plainfield. A 1985 graduate of Piscataway Vo-Tech, Darren was initially employed by the Greenbrook Police Department and then the former Plunkett - Webster Co. of South Plainfield and most recently, Dimensional Woodworking in South Plainfield. Darren was a dear and devoted husband and father to three children. He was active and giving of his time to the community and youth of South Plainfield. As a coach, Darren volunteered with the South Plainfield Wrestling Club and Junior Baseball League. He was extremely dedicated to the South Plainfield Pop Warner Football Eagles where he served in various positions including president and served as commissioner for 12 years. In addition to his parents, Darren is also predeceased by his brother, Kevin Leavitt. Surviving are his wife, Jill (Garibaldi), three children; Crystal, Shawn and Zackary, grandson, Jarrett; seven siblings, Lois Feher, Debra Panek, Michael Leavitt, Stephen Leavitt, Paul Graczyk, Thomas Gorman and James Gorman; his step father, David Eggers and numerous, nieces, nephews, extends family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 graveside in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway, NJ. Family & friends may gather on Tuesday in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 beginning at 9:15 AM. Visitation hours are Monday, December 7, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. Donations to the family are encouraged.
