Obituary of Gladys Manthey

Gladys R. Manthey Gladys R. Manthey, 81, of South Plainfield, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at home. Born in Newark, she lived in Irvington before moving to South Plainfield 55 years ago. She worked as a secretary for many years before retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Metuchen where she was a member of the choir. She is survived by, her husband Frederick, of 60 years; a son, Jeffrey of Florida; a daughter, Patricia Manthey and her husband Dan Garvey of Watchung; and a brother, George Rummel Jr. of Brick. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM from the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Metuchen. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 2-4 PM in McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gladys' name can be made to Alzheimer's Association, 12 Roszel Road, Suite C201, Princeton, NJ 08540.
