Obituary of Alfred H. Hafler

Alfred H. Hafler Dunellen, NJ - Alfred H. Hafler, 75, died on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Mt. Cobb, PA, he lived in Piscataway for eleven years and has been a resident of Dunellen for the past thirty-one years. He retired as a forklift operator for Crown Cork & Seal located in Edison. Al was known to many as a jack of all trades, enjoyed flea markets, and was often seen collecting items from curbs and fixing them, which his family often referred to it as "Curb Mart." He loved the Mustang and all cars, especially working on them as a mechanic. Al is predeceased by his parents Francis and Isabelle (Seeley) Hafler and his siblings Ida Fahrenbach and Bobby Edmund Hafler. He is survived by his wife Marilyn E. (Van Fleet) Hafler, his children Lisa Hafler of Dunellen, Michelle Osterberg (Larry) of Helmetta, Raenel Posey (David) of Lakeland, FL and Danielle Porosky of Cape Coral, FL. He will be missed by his brother Burton Hafler (MaryJane) of Cortez, PA, his sister Ruth Moore of Lake Ariel, PA and by his grandchildren; Nicole Robinson (Jerry), Michael Porosky, Justin Posey (Candice) and Christy Mellor (Brandon) and by his great-grandchildren Gage Leander and Ashlynn Nicole Robinson, Maycen Grace Mellor and Ryland Fox Posey. On Thursday, June 24, 2010, relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Millington Baptist Church, 520 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 for a 9:30 AM funeral service. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton, PA. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
