Obituary of Lorraine P. Podlovits

Lorraine P. Podlovits South Plainfield - Lorraine P. Podlovits (Perrotte), 72, died on Friday evening December 18, 2009 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Lorraine was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and had resided in Queens, NY., before settling to South Plainfield in 1974. Initially working for Western Union in NY, Lorraine was later employed in various companies in central Jersey doing secretarial duties for most of her life prior to retiring. She was a fun person with a great personality who had a love of music, especially country music & Alan Jackson. She also really loved making day trips to the Amish Country in Lancaster, PA. More importantly, Lorraine, was a doting grandmother who loved her four granddaughters immensely & enjoyed every moment she had with each of them. Predeceased by her parents, Frank & Florence Perrotte, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, Richard, two children, Donna Leonardis and her husband, Frank of Doylestown, Pa., and Joseph & his wife, Amy of Brea, CA. Her two brothers and their wives, Frank & Rosalie Perrotte and Robert & Linda Perrotte. Four beloved granddaughters, Sofia, Madelyn, Emilia & Rachel and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will begin on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service in Grace Episcopal Church, 600 Cleveland Avenue, Plainfield, NJ 07060. Cremation and entombment of her cremated remains will be private. Family & Friends may attend the visitation hours on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
