South Plainfield - Frank A. Schneider, 76, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Care One the Highlands in Edison.
Born in Union he lived in South Plainfield since 1960.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 aboard the USS Fiske as a torpedo man.
Frank worked for Jacobson & Co. in Elizabeth as a carpenter until opening his own business; Quality Interior Systems in South Plainfield until his retirement in 2002.
He was a member of the Carpenters Local # 715 and was past president of "Drywall Interior Systems Contractors of N.J." for 4 years. He was also a member of the South Plainfield Building Board of Appeals.
Frank held his private pilot license flying out of Hadley Airport and later owning his own Cessna based at the former KupperAirport, now Central Jersey Airport in Manville.
He is predeceased by his father Frank, his mother Emma and a sister Charlotte Wisert.
He is survived by his wife Kay of 50 years, 3 daughters, Kimberly Jeanette, Stacey O'Neill & Laurie Schneider, 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Aimee, Ryan & Katelyn.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield..
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2001 from 5-9 PM in the funeral home.
