Elaine T. Yorkanis
South Plainfield, NJ - Elaine T. (Keiffer) Yorkanis, 75, died on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home in New Brunswick surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Newark, Elaine moved to South Plainfield in 1968.
After many years of employment from the South Plainfield School District where she worked in the cafeteria, Elaine retired in 2003. She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, and as a people person, she will be missed by all those that knew her.
She is predeceased by her two sons; Daniel P. who died October 2, 1989 and Joseph W. who died on June 23, 1995.
Elaine is survived by her husband Bernard of fifty-three years, her son Stephen of Colonia and by her daughter-in-law Cindy Yorkanis-Trevisan. She leaves behind her four granddaughters; Heather, Jennifer, Kristen and Kerry, her brother Joseph Keiffer and his wife Jane of Connecticut, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 beginning 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Elaine will be laid to rest at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 3-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations sent to the Alzheimers Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871 would be appreciated.
