Jules A. Blutfield
South Plainfield, NJ - Jules A. Blutfield, 92, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Bronx, NY, Jules had been a resident of South Plainfield since 1949.
Serving overseas during WWII, Jules met and married his wife Claudine (Miho) in 1945. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1945 and received numerous awards and medals, especially the Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. Throughout his life, Jules was active in various military organizations and attended the 50th anniversary of D-Day, handing out medals to veterans who did not receive them during their war time.
He worked as a salesman for Cudahy Co. located in New York. Jules was an honorable, passionate, and loving man who was endlessly devoted to his family and friends. He will be remembered and missed by all those that knew him.
Jules is survived by his wife Claudine and by their children; Carole Golcher (Tom) of Ewing, Daniel Blutfield of Old Bridge and Joel Blutfield (Vicki) of Tuscan, AZ. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren and his brother, Bernard Blutfield.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 beginning at 10:00 AM in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel located in Wrightstown, NJ.
Arrangements are being held through McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, South Plainfield, NJ.
