Obituary of Dorothy G. Bellew

Dorothy G. Bellew South Plainfield - Dorothy G. (Greco) Bellew, 87, died on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mrs. Bellew resided in South Plainfield for the past 60 years. Prior to settling in South Plainfield, Dorothy worked as a dental assistant in New York for 10 years. A longtime and highly active communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, Mrs. Bellew was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Altar Society where she held various officer positions. For several years Dorothy participated in the Sacred Heart Church bingo and was also a member of the Sacred Heart School PTA. In addition, Mrs. Bellew volunteered in many other church functions. She served as past president of the Federated Women's Club in South Plainfield and was also a volunteer for the former South Plainfield Youth Employment Services. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Francis who died in 1999 and by all her brothers and sisters. Surviving are her 4 children; Dorothy Bellew of South Plainfield, Paulette Bellew and her longtime companion Eileen Gerety of South Plainfield, Francis Bellew also of South Plainfield and Joseph Bellew and his wife Linda of Piscataway., her 2 grandchildren; John Drangula and his wife Amanda and Jason Bellew. Also surviving is her niece Michele Smith - Newhouse. A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment Services will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 4-6pm in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield.
