August J. Pracher
South Plainfield, NJ - August J. "Gus" Pracher, 86, died suddenly on Saturday, February 14th, 2009 at his residence. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he had lived in Mackadoo, PA and Plainfield before moving to South Plainfield in 1967.
Honorably discharged as Corporal from the United Stated Army Air Force, Gus served during WWII . Proud to be a Veteran, he belonged to the American Legion, Chaumount Post #243 in South Plainfield. He enjoyed bowling and loved watching old westerns on tv.
He is predeceased by his brother and a sister.
Gus leaves behind his wife Eleanore (Payer), his children; Ronald Pracher and his wife Eileen of Hopatcong, Darcie DeVito and her husband Daniel or Northville, MI and Antony Pracher and his wife Pamela of Holliston, MA. He will be missed dearly by his eight grandchildren and his sister Susan Paulsen.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2009 beginning 9:30am in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 (www.mccriskinfuneralhome.com) followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in South Plainfield.
Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dallas, PA.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 6-9pm.
