Edith M. Goodrich
South Plainfield - Edith M. (Miller) Goodrich, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at her home.
Born in South Plainfield, Edith was a life long resident and along with her late husband, George, had a great love for South Plainfield Borough and contributed greatly to many of the local organizations.
Mrs. Goodrich was employed as an Assistant Director for the South Plainfield Public Library for 19 years before retiring in 1982.
Edith, along with Mr. Goodrich, participated in square dancing and ballroom dancing for many years in the Middlesex County area and Florida. She was a longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in South Plainfield, AARP, the South Plainfield Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Suburban Woman Club.
In addition to her husband George, Edith was predeceased by her sister and brother in law, Emma M. And Wesley J. Murray.
Surviving are her son and daughter in law, George & Marty Goodrich, a grandson and his wife, Christopher and Kelly Goodrich and two special little great granddaughters, Abigail & Emma, all of Bordentown, NJ.
Along with many nieces and nephews, she also leaves behind good friends, Marc, Tony and Stanley Makowski, Emma Demarest, Jeanne Loupassakis, Bella Aboagye and a special thank you to Florence Agyei for her care and compassion.
Family and friends may attend the visitation hours from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2008 prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM in the McCriskin -Gustafson Home For Funeral, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
