Joseph N. Grassifulli
Piscataway - Joseph N. Grassifulli, 91, died on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice in Edison.
Born in Piscataway, Joe lived in South Plainfield for most of his life before settling in Piscatway 2002.
He served with the Army in the Battery A 63rd Coast Artillery during WWII and was discharged as a Corporal.
He worked for Best Block in Edison then during his retirement, he became a crossing guard at the Maple Ave. and Spring Lake Park location and then relocating to the Clinton Ave. and Walnut St. intersection.
Mr Grassifulli was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and he was also a member of the Somerset County WOW's.
He is pre deceased by his wife Lena who died in 1986.
Surviving are his longtime companion Shirley Stover of Piscataway, his 2 daughters Marry Ann Cieri and Cynthia Grassifulli both of Lakewood, his brother Albert of Fanwood and his 2 grandchildren; Anthony and Helene Cieri. Also surviving are his loving step family; Brad Stover and his wife Denise of Piscataway, Darlene Stover of Middlesex, Michael and Melissa Dziowgo of Piscataway and Hal, Dawn, Alan and Kelsey Stover of North Carolina.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funeral, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 4 - 8 PM in the funeral home.
