South Plainfield, NJ - Walter F. Schuff, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Abingdon Care Center in Greenbrook surrounded by his loving family. Born in Plainfield to his parents the late, Wallace "Wally" and Caroline (Raiello) Schuff, Walter has been a resident of South Plainfield for many years. Walter worked in St Mary's cemetery Plainfield for many years with his uncle Chich, and cousin Johnny. After retiring Walter collected buisness cards, and calender's and loved reading his Sunday newspaper. Walter, better known as the "paper handler", enjoyed cutting coupons out of the newspapers and stacking papers with care. Predeceased by his father, Wallace "Wally" Schuff; Walter leaves behind his loving mother, Caroline Schuff and two siblings; Ruth Capwell and her husband Steve and Carol Esolda and her husband Billy, all of Hillsborough. Walter will be missed by his nieces and nephews; Sean and Adam Capwell and Amanda and Alex Esolda. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 8:30AM am until 9:30AM in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart in South Plainfield at 10AM. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
