Obituary of Patricia Hargey

Patricia Hargey, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at her home in Hillsborough, NJ.

Born in Morristown, NJ to the late Mary and Steven Bobelock, Pat grew up in Union, and after marrying her late husband, Bartholomew, the two resided in Plainfield, where they raised their five children. Over the years Pat made moves to North Plainfield and Rahway, before settling one final time in South Plainfield, where she has resided for the last 15 years.

Once her children were older, Pat began working for Barker Bus Company. Here she served as a School Bus Driver for 30 years, until her retirement in 2018.

Outside of work, Pat enjoyed concerts, listening to Elvis and Bon Jovi, dancing, playing bingo, and most of all, visiting Atlantic City. She also found great joy is going out with friends, but also staying home and cooking for her friends and family.

Predeceased by her husband, Bartholomew Hargey, Sr., and daughter, Karen, Patricia is survived by her children, Sharon Hargey and her partner Jeff Machos, Patricia Hargey and her husband Scott Boehler, Sean Hargey, and Buddy Hargey. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Melissa, Joseph, Carolyn, Justin, and Stephanie; great grandchildren, Leo, Lucas, Asher, Brayden, Makayala, and Olivia; and brother, Steven Bobelock, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 AM.

Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the Hargey Family has requested that donations be made to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, in Patricia’s name.
