Obituary of Aurora Pamposa Quilal-Ian
Piscataway – Aurora P. “Rory” Quilal-lan, 78, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at home.
Born in the Philippines, Rory earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of the Immaculate Conception of Concordia in Manila, Philippines; she immigrated to the United States and resided in Newark where she began her nursing career at East Orange General Hospital before retiring from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center after 37 years of dedicated service. Rory and her late husband settled in Piscataway Township in 1978 and raised their three sons.
A devoted communicant of St. Frances Cabrini, Rory spent countless hours at the church with Bible Studies and held positions within the congregation such as lecturer and Eucharist Minister.
Although Rory enjoyed spending time at home with her family, she was also a world traveler - visiting holy sites all over Europe.
Predeceased by her husband, Pacifico, who passed away in July 2017, in addition to her four brothers, Rory leaves behind her three sons, Jay Quilal-lan, Adam Quilal-lan, and Sean Quilal-lan and wife Lyza as well as her five cherished grandchildren, Ariana Vanina, Aidan, Liam Jacob, Skylar Paige and Ryan Evan.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 9:15AM at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by a 10:30AM funeral mass at St. Frances Cabrini in Piscataway.
Cremation will follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 5-9PM in the funeral home.
