Obituary of Joseph Henninger
Joseph ‘Spike’ Henninger, 85, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at home.
Joseph was born in Montclair and raised in Elizabeth. Joseph was a long time resident of South Plainfield, before relocating with his late wife, Rosemary to North Plainfield in 1988. They retired to Silver Beach almost 15 years ago.
Joseph initially worked for Boyle Midway of Cranford before starting his own construction company, Century Builders.
Joseph enjoyed vacationing in Florida as well as at the Jersey shore with his beloved daughters and grandchildren. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and taking care of the yard.
Predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Rosemary Henninger who died in January of this year. Surviving are his two daughters, Tiffany Meola and husband Tony, along with Taralyn Santagata and husband Luigi. He will also be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandra, Ava, Lorenzo and Angelo, nieces and nephews along with his beloved dog, Roxy.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10AM.
Joseph will be laid beside Rosemary following mass at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Family and friends may gather in the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 3PM – 6PM.
