Obituary of Virginia Spoto
Green Brook, NJ – Virginia Spoto, 75, passed away at her home on November 15, 2024. Born and raised in Hoboken to the late Joseph and Josephine (Marrone) Puleo, following her marriage to Matthew Spoto in 1976, Ginger then lived in Garfield for four years, prior to settling in Green Brook in 1980.
She worked for forty-two years as an Administrative Assistant, first starting her career with RCA and, over the years, after several ownership changes, retiring with Verizon in Piscataway. Ginger could always be found doing needlepoint and had a particular love for old movies and movie stars, such as Ronald Coleman, “The Thin Man” series with William Powell, and loved Morgan Freeman. In her spare time, Ginger was an avid reader about movie stars and the movie industry, as well as contemporary novels concerning the current political scene.
The kindest soul anyone could ever meet, Ginger leaves behind her husband of 48 years Matthew, first cousin Jane Lisa of Bridgewater and very dear friends since early childhood; Emilyn Garrick of Hoboken, Jeannette MacNish and her husband Bob of New Milford, NJ, as well as a number of other close friends. Ginger also leaves behind her cousins John and Bruce Puleo, as well as brother-in-law Alan and his wife Carolyn, and nephew Robert Spoto.
Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2pm until 6pm. Private cremation will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ginger’s name sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.StJude.org) would be appreciated.
