Q: What will you never forget about Barbara?
A: Barbara was my first administrative associate at Merck. I was impressed with her organization skills, and knowledge of patent administrative matters. To this day, I still cherish the light green blanket that she knit for my infant son for my baby shower. She organized many baby showers at Merck, using baby clothes and diapers as decoration. Her smile and laughter will always be with me.

I first met Barbara virtually when I joined Merck in 2020 during the start of the pandemic. It wouldn't be until about 1.5 years later that I would finally meet her in person. I saw her waiting outside for me in front of RY86. It was nice to finally see her face in real life. She gave me a big tight hug that was just so warm and it is something I have never ever forgotten. It was the kind of loving embrace an aunt would give her own niece. Barbara was a great manager and mentor for me and made it easy for me to confide in her about anything and everything. I am so grateful our working relationship turned into a true friendship after her retirement where I would beg her to come visit us at Merck every couple months, We would recommend netflix shows to each other and I could tease her about anything and she always knew I was kidding. Making her laugh was one of my favorite things to do because she had such a hearty contagious laugh that you knew was genuine. She was a good person through and through.
Barbara, I am absolutely devastated that I will not be physically in the country to be able to say bye to you. But I was told what your drink of choice is and even though I don't drink, I will surely be ordering it when I'm away. I miss you dearly my friend.

Barbara was a wonderful, caring, devoted, and funny woman with so much love in her heart. She was a loving wife to John, my childrens' paternal grandfather. Even from across the country, she kept in touch regularly -- never forgetting a birthday or holiday -- and even travelled with John to visit my daughter at her college's Family Weekend the first year (see photo). Her loss is great and I hope all the wonderful memories of Barbara help sustain everyone during this time of grief.

Barbara's sense of humor was like no other. One of the hardest working people I've ever met and still knew how to have fun at the same time. We were Batman and Robin for 13 years and I'll always be grateful for her friendship. I will forever miss my 'Muller Monster' and carry our memories with me always.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Barbara?
A: Barbara was very kind and supportive. She was always pleasant and very welcoming to me. She would say she couldn't forget my birthday because it is the day before hers. Gone too soon.
