Obituary of Jean McKimm
South Plainfield - Jean McKimm, 90, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at her home in South Plainfield.
Born in Plainfield to the late John and Anne Bell, Jean was a longtime resident of Plainfield before settling in South Plainfield in 1960.
Early in her life, Jean worked as an Operator for Bell Telephone, before leaving work to raise her three daughters. She then went back to work at Revlon, where she retired at 59 years old. Jean later went on to become a Crossing Guard in South Plainfield.
Outside of work, she was active within the South Plainfield Senior Center, where she has been a member since 2007. She also enjoyed reading mysteries.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, Edward McKimm; daughters, Nancy McKimm, and Karen Conroy; and sister Margret Brainard.
She will be missed by her daughter, Diane Maiorino and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Alyssa (Mathew), Aimee, Jim (Emily), Jonathan (Heather), and Jeffrey; and greatgrandchildren, Eva Ann, Lucy Jean, and Luca James, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11 AM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM.
Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.
