Obituary of John E Morgan
John Morgan, 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at home.
Born in Perth Amboy, John was a lifelong resident of Edison Township. He grew up on Farmhaven and raised his family at 812 in “the yard.” He began his career with the Edison BOE as a teenager, worked for many years as their plumber, and retired as the Maintenance Foreman after over 40 years of service.
John loved his family, building, bowling, hunting, and being outdoors, but his legacy lives in anyone who knew him by his unmatched ability to know everything about everything. The saying, “Jack of all trades, master of none,” does not apply to John Morgan. He actually was the master of ALL trades. With that knowledge, he did not only build a career and a life for his family, but also made his dream of having a cabin in The Valley, a reality. Built from the ground up, with his bare hands, the cabin is where their family will continue to live his dream; sitting around the fire or in the creek, riding the quad and hunting.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Colleen (McCarthy) Morgan; four children, Erin Santasieri and husband Tony, T.J. Morgan and wife Meghann, Lucas Morgan and wife Heather, Shannon Kraemer and husband Shawn, sister, Judy Rainford, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Lynn Brown.
Papa will be missed by his nine grandchildren Mikey, Bella, Lita, Tressa, Colton, Wyatt, James, Rylee, Ryan, one expected in September and two great grandchildren, Kehlani and Giavanna. They will miss riding the tractor with him, learning how to use tools, and watching The Price is Right while having “yunch” with Papa.
Family and friends may gather on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 3PM – 7PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 with funeral services beginning at 6:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, in John’s memory.
