Obituary of Jacqueline Deluccia
Jacqueline (Haissaguerre) Deluccia, 95, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by loving family on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Born in Biarritz, France to the late Pierre and Jeanne (Inda) Haissaguerre, Jacqueline was a war bride who came to the United States in 1946 following the Second World War. For a majority of her life, she resided in Scotch Plains and North Plainfield before moving to Middlesex twenty-three years ago.
For twenty years, she worked as a waitress for the former Bamberger’s in Plainfield. Jacqueline was a member of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex. She enjoyed taking trips to the casino and loved her four-legged companion, Maggie. She told colorful stories about her childhood in France, fiercely guarded her recipe for spaghetti sauce, and laughed loudly and often. She loved spending time with her children, Jackie and Billy, and the rest of her family, who will miss her dearly.
Predeceased by her first husband William P. France, second husband Eugene Deluccia, daughter Patricia Sutton and four siblings, Jacqueline leaves behind her two children of Middlesex, Jacqueline Adams and William P. France, Jr., and two step-daughters, as well as five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Family and friends may gather on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex for a 10:30am funeral mass.
Jacqueline will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
