Obituary of Maria Regina Cavacloglou
Dunellen, NJ – Maria Regina Cavacloglou, 56, died suddenly while traveling to Japan to attend her niece’s wedding. Just short three months of retirement, Maria planned to travel the world, thus, starting her journey to Japan. Born in Jersey City, Maria grew up in North Bergen and after high school; she attended and graduated from William Paterson University. She married the late Frederick Cingerana, Sr. in August of 1996 and they settled in Dunellen to raise their twin boys.
Maria was currently a 4th and 5th grade teacher at McKinnley School located in North Bergen. She had a love for the kitchen and enjoyed cooking and baking, especially Greek cookies. Even though Maria would never admit it, she will be remembered for her love of shopping. She liked to play cards with her mom and loved to spend time outside in the garden.
Predeceased by her father John and husband Frederick, Maria leaves behind her loving mother Judith (Green) Cavacloglou, sons: Johnny and Freddy Cingerana, pseudo-daughter Patti and granddaughter Anisa, along with two brothers: Joseph and Nicholas Cavacloglou and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854on Sunday, April 14, 2024 beginning at 1:00pm. A concluding prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 5:00pm.
