Obituary of Michael N. Getsy
Branchburg, NJ – Michael N. Getsy, 84, died suddenly surrounded by his loving family on March 23, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville. Born in Somerville, he moved to Piscataway in 1963 and resided there until the passing of his wife in 2022, and moved to Branchburg.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as an E-3 in 1962. Mike was a former Director of Services for Mack Trucking and retired from Bristow Truck and Equipment where he worked as an Adjuster.
He was a former Mason and Tall Cedar, could repair anything he put his hands on and loved golf, poker, slots and scratch-offs. Above all things, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
Predeceased by his wife Judith A. Getsy who died in 2022, Mike leaves behind his loving daughters; Theresa Winkler and her husband Paul of Bridgewater and Michelle Tatoris and her husband Kevin of Glen Gardner as well as his three grandsons; Daniel Berardi, Jr., Chase and Dylan Tatoris.
At the request of Michael’s family, all services will be held privately and he will be buried in the family plot of Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to the Disabled American Veterans (www.DAV.org) would be appreciated.
