Obituary of Isidra B. Piano
Isidra “Lydia” B. Piano, 83, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
She was born and raised in Tayug, Pangasinan, Philippines. Having met the love of her life, Godofredo, who served in the United States Navy for 21 years, Lydia, traveled with him and their family to Spain, California, Illinois, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Virginia before calling New Jersey their home.
Once settled in New Jersey, Mrs. Piano worked as a Technical Assistant-Management Information Systems for the Somerset County Board of Social Services in Somerset for nineteen years prior to her retirement in July 2000.
Proud of her Filipino heritage, she was involved with the Filipino-American Association at every port of station, as well as a member of the Lion’s Club International, and belonged to the CNJ Fil-Am Tennis Club.
An avid fan of Dancing with the Star’s and Hell’s Kitchen TV programs, Lydia enjoyed Zumba, spin and kickboxing classes, weight training, traveling to foreign countries, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren, who she was extremely proud of. In addition, she also valued her time spent with friends.
Lydia was an exceptional cook. She enjoyed passing down recipes to her family, loved to throw parties, and try anything crafty.
She is predeceased by her husband, Godofredo, of 34 years and is survived by her daughters, Ann Piano – Frosch and her husband Andrew of Coppell, TX, Geraldine Piano Kozar of Bordentown, NJ, and her son, Ferdinand Piano and his wife Elzen of Rockwell, Makati, Philippines; son in – law, Michael Kozar of Yardley, PA; grandchildren, Aden and Aren Frosch, and Evan and Isabella Kozar; her favorite four-legged child, Bubba; and in – laws, Mike Piano, Esperanza and Remi Renard, Felipe and Tess Piano, Gary Piano, Teresita and Nick Quesada, Toni Piano, Bernie Piano, Julie Piano, and Gianna Buccat.
Also surviving are many cousins, extended nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, and great grandnephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 beginning at 9:15am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Piscataway.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5-8pm in the funeral home.
